I recently found just a few of these nice little meters at a terrific price, and they're really handy for appliance work. They ship with test leads, instructions, and even the 9V battery's included and installed. Just unbox, turn it on, and go!

Reads AC voltage up to 750V, DC to 1000V, amperage to 10A, resistance to 2 megohms, and does diode and transistor tests. Measures approx. 2-3/4" x 5" x 1" thick.

The reason meters like this are so inexpensive is speed. From the testing I've done with them here in the shop, they're very accurate, just not as fast as Pro versions ($100+). But for simple appliance testing, who cares?! When I started back in 1972, I carried a tiny $4 analog (needle) type meter, and it served me well for years.
