Maytag wringer washer date codes 1954 - 1983

1954 through 1959 models used letter preceding numbers and letter following numbers
100,000 to 199,999 numbers used to designate model “E” models
200,000 to 299,999 numbers used to designate model “J” models
300,000 to 399999 numbers used to designate model “N” models

Example:   G105465T (G = year 1957, 105465 = Model “E”, T= month October)
                   G234232G (G = year 1957, 234232 = Model “J”, G = month April)
                   L323555A (L = year 1959, 323555 = Model “N”, A = month January)

1960 through end of production model used different numbers followed by two letters
10,000 to 39,999 numbers used to designate model “E” models
40,000 to 59,999 numbers used to designate model “J” models
60,000 to 89,000 numbers used to designate model “N” models
90,000 to 94,999 numbers used to designate model “NX” models

Example:    10343FH (10343 = Model “E”, F = year 1968, H = month April)
                    52555DQ (52555 = Model “J”, D = year 1967, Q = month July)
                    77777QD (77777 = Model “N”, Q = year 1972, D = month February)
                    90125FF (90125 = Model “NX”, F = year 1968, F = month March)

Note: If production of Wringer washers had continued into 1984 serial number system
