In this issue:

1) The Most Popular 'How-To' Articles Posted - Index
2) It's mid-Summer Again - Time to Lube Those Refrigerator Seals...
3) Please Donate to Chilean Earthquake Relief
4) Lyme Disease Resources

'Have to keep this issue short and sweet!

1) I've been meaning to tell you guys for a while now that many of the most popular
'How-To' articles that have appeared in the newsletter over the years are archived
on the website (including the two important ones mentioned in item #2 below), indexed
here: www.DavesRepair.com/DIYhelp/index.htm

2) Somehow mid-Summer's already here again, when I always remind (nag!) you (and
myself) to clean your refrigerator's condenser coil and lubricate its door seals.

As you know, these two little jobs will make your refrig breathe easier and save you a
bunch of money in the long haul, so they're definitely worth doing annually.

And seal lube is especially important these days when seals are no longer held on with
screws, making them really tough to replace. This simple trick prevents your ever having
to replace them, if done correctly and annually (our refrig is 30+ years old and its seals
still look new, even though its 'Harvest Gold' color is really getting hard on the eyes)

So here's your (and my own) 'official' annual reminder (you needed something else to
do, right?!)

3) Our daughter Lindsay has been living in Chile for the last few years, and has fallen in love
with that country and its amazing people. Even though it's no longer mentioned in our news
here in the US, the devastation and homelessness there from the March earthquake is still
many years from getting back to normal. In fact, she says aftershocks are continuing even
now, some 4 months later, with everyone still on edge.

Most of us just don't have Chile on our 'radar' any longer, because the media has moved on
to more sensational stories, but the needs there are still crushing.

She previously lived in the town of Valparaiso, on the hard-hit Pacific coast, before her
apartment was destroyed by the quake (she was back in PA for week-long visit when it hit,
by God's mercy), and has been working with the newspaper in Santiago and several relief
agencies there.

I've had a lot of folks ask what they could do to help (many thanks to those of you who already
have!), so I've hastily put up a simple webpage to accept donations from anyone who would care
to send a few dollars to the relief effort. No donation is too small, and 100% of the funds she's
collecting goes directly to helping the people of Chile get their lives back to some semblance of
normal. Whole towns that were located on the coast near the epicenter no longer exist, and many
families are still living outside, with no real shelter or income - and it's winter there now.

I hope to post more photos and details on the site in the near future; right now it's just a one-page
site to accept donations via Paypal. Thank you very much and God bless you for anything you can
do to help, at www.LindsayHarnish.com

4) Lyme Disease has reached epidemic levels here in our neck of the woods, and yep, I've come
down with it like so many others. On the one hand, I'm glad to know that the extreme fatigue I've
been dealing with for the last 3-4 years *isn't* just aging <grin>. On the other, it comes with a
painful and bothersome bunch of symptoms, which can vary from one individual to the next, not
to mention the 'interesting' co-infections that often accompany it.

Just in case any of you are also dealing with this nastiness, here are a few resources that have
helped me a lot:

www.LymeDoctor.com - I highly recommend Dr Singleton's book, 'The Lyme Disease Solution'
www.ILADS.org - Another excellent site
www.LymePA.org - From SE Pennsylvania; download your free 'The Basics' pdf booklet here

Thanks once again for inviting me into your inbox.

God bless you and yours,
